Makia x WGB x Kings - Rööperi for charity

Makia has worked with legendary Helsinki based adult store King’s Sex and former nightclub Kings Kakadu, on a line of print shirts designed by WeGotBeef head honcho Sacha Remling. The adult store that is located in the same area of Punavuori where Makia was founded in, is owned by ex-gangster Tom Sjöberg, who is one of the last of the original local street kids.

The idea of this collaboration also came from a local duo Emilia Åberg and Samuli Mykkänen, in their quest to help the older people of the area isolated by the pandemic. The proceedings from this collaboration will be donated to the elderly people of Punavuori in the form of an outdoor festivities day (organised By Hyvän Mielen Tapahtumat society) to prevent social isolation of the elderly.

Our guest artist Sacha Remling is a streetwear aficionado from Helsinki, Finland, currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This collaboration marks the start of him working for Makia as a freelance foreign correspondent.
