Makia Spring 2022 Collection

The Makia Spring/Summer 2022 collection is all about easy going functionality. The collection is rolling out in two drops, the first one is comfortable easy leisurewear that is out now and the second one with the rest of the collection, in late February. Longer coats and shell jackets for the spring as well as shorter workwear inspired jackets in the men’s collection. Comfortable soft jerseys in toned down colours. Merino wool and cotton Tencel knits. Spring vests and overskirts to layer up in and ultimately summery items like shorts, light shirts and dresses. Also, the children have a comprehensive selection of colourful summer essentials suitable for everyday escapades.

The collection was shot in the 1860s constructed building of Svenska Teatern (The Swedish Theatre) located in the heart of downtown Helsinki. The building of Svenska Teatern was renovated in 1935 by architects Eero Saarinen and Jarl Eklund. The richly decorated facade of the building was replaced with a new one representing functionalism. For us this was a chance to highlight a part of culture that has mostly been missing from people’s lives for the past two years.
