Classics Never Die – (Re)introducing the Helsinki Parka

Sometimes, it’s easy to point out singular moments that changed everything. For Makia, one of those moments took place 20 years ago. That’s when we designed the Raglan Parka – the no-nonsense jacket that could take you through whatever the winter could throw at you. That jacket, it turned out, encapsulated Makia’s Nordic spirit and, quite literally, became part of Finnish design history. Now, it’s ready for a long-awaited comeback.  

The Helsinki Parka is built upon the same elements that made the Raglan Parka work:  the regular-fitting parka jacket features a faux-down lining and a hood with detachable faux-fur to keep you warm throughout the frost and the wind. The lining’s material is made from 100 % Sorona® recycled polyester – a partially plant-based material with a good brethability and warmth retention. 

20 years is a long time, but some things don’t change. Winters in the North are still cold and unpredictable. And a good jacket still goes a long way.
