The place to be, every Thursday night. For 50 years, Kaarle XII (or Kalle, as the regulars would have it) has been an iconic hotspot in Helsinki nightlife. This capsule is a celebration of those years of unforgettable nights – and pays tribute to the place that established itself as the go-to hangout for all walks of life, from investment bankers to students.

The capsule’s prints feature some of the hallmarks of a proper night out at Kaarle XII, from the restaurant’s logo to the Jugendstil-style building itself. And of course we had to include the glass painting overlooking the restaurant’s stairwell. Over the last fifty years, that painting has witnessed a whole tapestry of nightlife unfold: merrymakers climbing the staircase with high hopes and big plans, strangers forging friendships that would last a lifetime, and the occasional tumbling-down-the-stairs with a newfound sense of humility. And come next Thursday, they’ll do it all over again.
