The Olle Eksell 3 dives into Olle’s ideas about form and chaos.
We’ve had the privilege to continue our work with the archives of the legendary Swedish graphic designer and illustrator Olle Eksell (1918-2007). The third installation of our Olle Eksell collaboration continues to showcase Olle’s wide array of work –as well as pays homage to the versatile and visionary designer.
By now, we’ve covered Olle’s impressive biography. If you want to learn more about Olle’s life and works, check out our previous Journal about him.
Instead, let’s focus on Olle Eksell 3. The collection features a range of unisex pieces that feature Olle’s playful, eccentric, and sometimes retro art style. For example, the short-sleeved Olle Shirt and the matching Olle Shorts have a colorful print with some serious 80s vibes in it – in other words, a perfect outfit for the summer.
The Olle Eksell 3 also dives into Olle’s ideas about form and chaos. As Olle himself said, design is a way of bringing form into chaos, and that topic is studied on a number of pieces in the collection. And, of course, Olle’s wacky bird characters get their well-deserved place on a print.
