2020 marks the 75-year anniversary of Tove Jansson publishing her first Moomin novel. To celebrate this Moomin Characters Ltd is launching the #OURSEA campaign in collaboration with the John Nurminen Foundation.

Rasmus Tikkanen is a Helsinki-based artist and a friend, who has collaborated with us with a series of print designs. Rasmus also hosted the Makia x Tretorn launch party in August at the old military island of Vallisaari in Helsinki where he has his studio. We interviewed Rasmus about his career as an artist, his inspirations, style and love for Helsinki.

Ivar Fougstedt was one of the original founding members of Makia along with Joni Malmi and Jussi Oksanen. Ivar spent a few days in his local neighbourhood in Tokyo with photographer Antti Rastivo.

Makia Clothing and Alvar Aalto Foundation have partnered up for a first of its kind collaboration. Introducing a collection of timeless streetwear inspired by Alvar Aalto’s groundbreaking work as an architect and designer.

10th of October marks the World Mental Health Day. CupOfTherapy tackles heavy topics in a gentle and accessible way. To support this important cause, together with CupOfTherapy we created a collection of print shirts for the whole family.

The Makia Raglan Parka has been with us since our first collection and become a staple for us, representing timeless usability with a touch of Nordic contemporary design heritage. For this season we are introducing a new, re-designed version of the Raglan Parka.
