Well, that was summer. It was fun while it lasted, but now’s time to start getting ready for Fall – the dropping temperatures and the decreasing amount of sunlight. For Fall 23, we’re rolling out with some comfy and warm knits, sweaters, hoodies, and mid-season jackets like the York Jacket and the Souvenir Jacket.
Alongside our classic logos and naval themes, the prints of Fall 23 feature highlights from several of our friends. Joonas Jansson, our collaborator from previous collections, has designed prints like the Sixth Sense and Third Eye for a touch of mystique. Janne-Juhani Hyvärinen – our long-time family member and former colleague – has provided cartoon-styled prints that feature some of our most Finnish emblems, like a roaring lion, angry swans, and opportunistic seagulls.
Furthermore, our long-time collaborator Oona Mäkelä has designed the Splash pattern to add a touch of color to the Fall. For bright tones, check out also the jacquard-woven Bengtskär Knit and Tone Knit. Other highlights of the collection include the Nila Overshirt and Nila Pants, as well as the Sienna Shirt and Sienna Skirt, all made from corduroy fabric in classic mossy green.
As the locale for the photo shoot, we chose the Post Bar in Sörnäinen, Helsinki. A club and music bar founded by four DJs in 2018, the Post Bar’s aesthetics are inspired by the brutalist style, also seen in the nearby Merihaka district. The location also tells its own story about the Helsinki nightlife scene. Previously, Punavuori was the place to be when heading out for a night in the town. In recent years, the center of the capital’s nightlife has moved a couple of kilometers to the North-East, to Kallio and its neighboring districts.
